Mid-applause, it cuts out: Emma’s voice fails and with it the carefully tuned life she built. Contracts unravel, friendships fray, every recommendation lands like a verdict. When medicine has no answers, Emma chooses a path that is more courage than method: a shamanic trance that takes her to the edge of the tangible. In that in-between, memories surface, shadows take shape, the border between body and image blurs. Kurschatten watches up close and without varnish as a woman tries to reclaim her sound, not as a return to “before,” but as a retuning of voice, body and gaze. A film about healing as confrontation, about the tenderness of strength and the possibility of rebirth.
